Crossfit Total

Today I did the baseline workout Crossfit Total.  I was worried about this and did not think that I would be able to score well but I surprised myself.  To calculate your Crossfit Total you take your best attempt at the following three exercises:

  1. Back Squat
  2. Overhead Press
  3. Deadlift

You take three attempts at each weight take the best attempt add them up and get your total

I was able to lift 265 for my back squat.  I hit each of my attempts which makes me think that I could do more next time, hopefully around 285, maybe even 300.  I lifted 155 for the overhead press.  I had an missed attempt at 160, if I start there next time I bet I could hit it.  This is an area I think I could improve a lot in as I keep training.  My deadlift surprised me the most.  At home I struggled even doing 135, but I was able to hit 300 on my last attempt.  I don't think I could do much more but maybe by the next time I do this I could improve.

My total score was 705.  Based on the current scores at my gym I would be tied for third, I don't think I will still be there by the end of today, but I hope I am still on it.  Based on the CFT rankings I score just over the novice level.  Lots of room for improvement.
